MyBio is one of the most useful web sites for life science researchers, more than 500 pages of information containing nearly 4000 links, attracting 20,000 monthly visits from 12250 distinct users each month. More than 35,000 distinct visitors have used the site in the last 3 months (figures calculated August 2006). For comparison with traffic measured by "hits" 20,624,376 hits were recorded across BioDirectory and Bioinformatics.Net in the 12 months to August 27th, 2006, using Webalizer server log analysis of web site traffic. Each week our users click through to external web sites many thousands of times.

Although MyBio is relatively new website (June 2007), it took over from Bioinformatics.Net which was established for 5 years. We have surveyed our web site users to determine the global reach of our audience. In summary, the users are predominantly North American and European, with some presence from Asia. The raw percentages are as follows: 56% of users are in North America (48% US and 6% Canada), 31% are European users (9.5% UK, 6% Germany, 3% France, 3% Italy), 7% are in India, 3% are in China, 2% are in Japan. Figures were determined by IP address using geolocation [GEO-IP] in a survey of 10000 users, 14.83% of user locations not determined).
