Isoelectric point
JaMBW Chapter 3.1.6. Isoelectric Plot Aim Given a sequence of aminoacids, this program computes and plots the average net charge of the entire peptide, as function of the pH. Mode of operation The program uses 3 windows: the top one should ...
Protein Calculator
Estimates molecular weight, absorbance, solvent content, isoelectric point, mass, ultra-violent absorption, and charge at any pH.

ExPASy Home page. Site Map. Search ExPASy. Contact us. Proteomics tools. Swiss-Prot. The ExPASy Server requires Javascript to be fully functional. You may not see all the information available for this page (More information).
Protein Prospector
Proteomics tools for mining sequence databases in conjunction with Mass Spectrometry experiments.
DIGEST (EMBOSS)
Protein proteolytic enzyme or reagent cleavage digest tool from the EMBOSS suite. digest finds the positions where a specified proteolytic enzyme or reagent might cut a peptide sequence.
You input a protein sequence and specify one proteolytic agent (eg. Trypsin, CNBr, Chymotrypsin) from a list. It will then output a file containing the positions where the agent cuts, together with the peptides produced.
About Digest
ProtParam
Calculates physical and chemical properties of a protein sequence. Computates various physical and chemical parameters for a given protein stored in Swiss-Prot or TrEMBL or for a user entered sequence. The computed parameters include the molecular weight, theoretical pI, amino acid composition, atomic composition, extinction coefficient, estimated half-life, instability index, aliphatic index and grand average of hydropathicity (GRAVY).
Protein Search Tools
Listing of a large number of protein search tools, including search tools for proteins using physical or chemical properties, nucleotide sequences, peptide sequences, text strings, and search for dna sequences using peptide sequences as queries.
TagIdent
Allows the generation of a list of proteins close to a given pI and Mw,
the identification of proteins by matching a short sequence tag of up to 6 amino acids against proteins in the SWISS-P.
MassSearch
Searching SwissProt or EMBL by protein mass after digestion.
ProTherm
Thermodynamic database for proteins and mutants. Release 4.0 of ProTherm, thermodynamic database for proteins and mutants, contains 14 500 numerical data (450% of the first version) of several thermodynamic parameters along with experimental methods and conditions, and structural, functional and literature information. The sequence and structural information of proteins is connected with thermodynamic data through links between entries in Protein Data Bank, Protein Information Resource and SWISS-PROT and the data in ProTherm. We have separated the Gibbs free energy change obtained at extrapolated temperature from the data on denaturation temperature measured by the thermal denaturation method. We have added the statistics of amino acid replacements and links to homologous structures to each protein. Further, we have improved the search and display options to enhance search capability through the web interface.
